AGUSTÍN SIRAI

Artista visual y profesor de pintura. Nació en La Plata, donde reside y trabaja.
Su producción se enfoca principalmente en la pintura y se distingue por el tratamiento riguroso que aplica sobre toda la superficie y la atención minuciosa en el detalle. Desde una perspectiva contemporánea, su obra dialoga con la amplia tradición de los géneros pictóricos. Desarrolla pinturas en series: inventarios de cosas, interiores que muestran espacios inciertos, que alojan criaturas híbridas, fantasmas, zombies y animales en situaciones ambiguas. Pinta vastos paisajes, atemporales, deshabitados y exuberantes, con una precisión casi obsesiva.
Ha realizado exposiciones individuales en ARTHAUS Central (2025), Miranda Bosch (2021), Centro de Arte UNLP (2018) y Praxis (Nueva York, 2015), entre otros espacios. Recibió la Beca UADE Artes Visuales 2025 y el 1º y 2º Premio Nacional de Pintura del Banco Central (2011 y 2021).

Visual artist and painting professor. He was born in La Plata, where he lives and works.
His work focuses primarily on painting and is characterised by the rigorous treatment he applies to the entire surface and his meticulous attention to detail. From a contemporary perspective, his work engages with the rich tradition of pictorial genres. He creates paintings in series: inventories of objects, interiors depicting uncertain spaces that harbour hybrid creatures, ghosts, zombies and animals in ambiguous situations. He paints vast, timeless, uninhabited and exuberant landscapes with almost obsessive precision.
He has held solo exhibitions at ARTHAUS Central (2025), Miranda Bosch (2021), the Centro de Arte of the Universidad Nacional de La Plata (2018) and Praxis (New York, 2015), amongst other venues. He was awarded the UADE Visual Arts Scholarship 2025 and the 1st and 2nd National Painting Prizes from the Central Bank (2011 and 2021).
